Not everything resolves neatly. Some things just stay. This is a list of things I'm still angry about, written honestly, without trying to wrap it up into something more palatable.
That they didn't call my mum
I asked. They said they would. They didn't. I sat there for three hours believing someone was coming, that I wasn't alone in it, that she knew. She didn't know. Of everything, this is the one I keep coming back to. Everything else about that day was bad. This made it worse in a specific and deliberate way — they had the information, they gave me the assurance, and they didn't follow through.
That reporting a data breach became an allegation against me
I documented it carefully. I recorded the route. I saved it where staff could see it. The intention was transparency — look, this is a problem, here's how I found it, here's the evidence. The response was to reframe my reporting as the problem. The breach was their misconfigured permissions. I became the issue. That inversion still makes me angry.
That the teacher said that in front of everyone
"Not speaking hm??" In front of the whole class during register. It's such a small thing in the scale of everything that happened and it somehow stings more than bigger things do. Because it was casual. Because it was public. Because it was a teacher — someone in a position of care — using my communication difference as a remark.
That the assessment plan didn't exist
I was denied a reasonable adjustment based on a document that wasn't there. A legal requirement, absent. And the way I found out was by questioning it myself, not because anyone told me. The adjustment that was supposed to be in place to support me through hand pain during written work just... wasn't. Nobody flagged it. Nobody fixed it. I found the gap by falling into it.
That they stopped me getting to Suzanne
My head of year stopped me in the corridor when I was trying to reach my trusted adult. No reason given. Just stopped. The system that was supposed to exist for exactly this kind of situation was blocked at the moment I needed it. I'm angry that happened and I'm angry it wasn't seen as the failure it was.
